Journalist Ihor Tsyganyk recalled the emotional personnel decisions of the Dynamo president Igor Surkis in the mid-2000s. According to the journalist, in 2007, after the defeat by “Roma” in the Champions League, Surkis immediately left for a change of coach.
“Ihor Mykhailovych was completely different then. Demyanenko was fired immediately, although he won the championship and led the team to the Champions League. After the first round – everything, the decision was made instantly, he was replaced by Sabo. It was very emotional,” Tsyganyk emphasized.
Earlier it became known that Oleksandr Gladkyi and Rustam Khudzhamov could have moved to Dynamo before the start of the 2007/2008 season, but chose Shakhtar instead.
