Before the start of the match of the 1st Qualification Round of the Europa League between Ilves and Shakhtar Donetsk, a banner with a political message appeared in Tammela.
The fans of the Ukrainian club were hung a banner with the inscription in English: “The War Goes on” – “The War continues.” Thus, the fans have expressed support for Ukraine during full -scale aggression of Russia, which has been going on for over three years.
Last year, the banner with the same inscription was spotted in the stands in Helsenkirchen during the Champions League match between Shakhtar and Bavaria.
The meeting in Tampere ended with a score of 0: 0. In the first match, the Miners defeated Ilves with a score of 6-0, which made it come into the Q2 League of Europe, where they play against the Turkish Besiktas.
