Former Sports Director of the Locals Ivan Telko confirmed that Shakhtar Donetsk is negotiating on the purchase of a 33-year-old central defender:
“I hope the transition of Shabanov to Shakhtar is possible. There is an interest in it by the Donetsk club. Now I do not participate in these negotiations, so it is difficult for me to tell at what stage they are. However, it deserves such a transition.
I hope “Alexandria” will receive his requests for Artem. The club believed in this player, we realize that he is already young. If everything goes out now and he goes to Shakhtar for the season or two – I will be happy. This is a very professional football player, ”Telko said.
In the season-2024/25 Shabanov spent 30 matches in all tournaments, in which he scored one goal and gave one productive transmission. The estimated cost of the defender is 250 thousand euros.
