-Marlon, in the match with Kolos you scored the 1000th Brazilian goal in Shakhtar’s history. What does it mean to you personally?
– I’m very happy! This is, of course, a pleasant achievement. I have to note all the Brazilians who have made this achievement – both those who are in the team now, and those who advocated the club before all these years and helped Shakhtar to get trophies and put their name into history. I want to thank all the guys who are now in the team and other Brazilians: non -arrogant, Kevin, Pedrinho, Eginald, all my compatriots who helped to enlarge the number of balls in the Brazilian history of Shakhtar.
– What names from the past have you inspired?
– I followed many Shakhtar Brazilians, with many of them familiar and should thank them all for being to some extent a source of inspiration for me. From the recent history of the club is Fred, Alan Patrick, who I watched and continue to do it, who inspired me with my game. If you remember my personal acquaintances, it is Alex Tisheir, with whom I had the opportunity to play in Vasca da Gamma: he helped me, prompted me, and advised to go to Shakhtar. And my very good acquaintance Wellington is not, what kind of in the same region as I and he was also a very good example for me, I could also consult with him, he inspired me both playing and achievements – human and career.
– What, in your opinion, to explain such a strong relationship between Shakhtar and Brazil?
– This is a close family relationship. Many young Brazilians want to perform in Europe, and Shakhtar is really one of the wonderful springboards to achieve this goal. The cooperation between Brazil and Shakhtar has existed for more than a year, it is very tight and, most importantly, productive. She gave more than one talented generation of young performers. A very close connection that has proven itself with the quality, emotions and football of high level directly on the field.
– How do you see Shakhtar’s future and your role in it?
– If I evaluate my potential football path, I would like to stay in the miner as long as possible, to please the fans with their game and team achievements, to give reasons for joy to all – both players and staff, of course, our fans. I also hope to develop as a professional, to improve their football characteristics, to be a leader in the field, to honor the duties of one of the team captains and to give my own activity to the direct benefit of the club.
