The Spanish Football Federation is considering a transfer Spanish Super Cup in 2027 from Saudi Arabia due to calendar issues. Despite the current contract until 2029, the RFEF is looking for an alternative location as Saudi Arabia will host the Asian Cup during the same period.
According to The Athletic, the parties have been in talks for several months and are discussing compensation options – including a possible extension of the deal until 2030 or longer. The question of financial terms and fulfillment of organizational obligations is also raised.
The Spanish Super Cup is regularly criticized for its format and venue, but the tournament remains an important source of income for the confederation.
