The most successful German club was founded in 1900. The first president in the history of the team was Franz Ion, and the captain was Paul Franke, who at the same time performed the duties of a playing coach. The first trophy at the professional level was obtained by the Munich club in 1932, having defeated the Eintracht in the German Championship with a score of 2: 0.
When founding the Bundesliga in 1963, Bavaria was not invited to the tournament at once – only two years later the club got into the elite German championship. In their debut campaign, the Bundesliga “Munich” took third place in the new competition.
From 1911 to 1972, the German team spent their matches at one of the oldest stadiums of the city – Grunwelder. Already in 1972 the team moved to the newly built “Olympic” stadium, which accommodated from 69,000 to 79,000 spectators.
The great legend of the Reds was Franz Bekenbauer, who helped the club as a captain in the period 1974-1976 take three times in a row of European Champions Cup (today’s Champions League). Later, in 1994, Bekenbauer returned to the club as a president. Not being satisfied with the work of the trainer at the time, he himself became the main mentor and helped the team win the UEFA Cup 1995/96.
In 1998, the Bavarka lured on their side of the trainer of the Dortmund “Borussia” Ottmar Hitzfeld, who later became one of the most comprehensive coaches in the history of the club.

The 2012/13 season became a triumphant for Munich – the team won its first Treble in history and became the first German team to be distinguished by this achievement. The Bundesliga campaign 2012/13 became the anniversary (50th). Six rounds before the end of the Chervoni Championship won their 23rd Championship title. In the German Cup, the Bavarza beat “Stuttgart” with a score of 3: 2, and in the Champions League there was a German final against Borussia Dortmund, which Bavaria won with a score of 2: 1.
The second Trebl in the history of the club was won under the direction of Hansi Flik (2019-2021), which also helped the team repeat the achievements of Spanish Barcelona in 2009, winning all the tournaments of the season.
