43-year-old former player of the national team of Cameroon and president of the country’s football federation Samuel Eto’o was sanctioned by FIFA due to the fact that he exerted pressure on the referees during the match of the World Youth Championship among women under 20 between the national teams of Brazil and Cameroon. On the official website of the organization, they report that the behavior of the ex-Barcelona forward was unacceptable.
The decision to ban Eto’o from attending the matches of all national teams of Cameroon was made due to the violation of articles 13 (Offensive behavior and violation of the principles of fair play) and 14 (Improper behavior of players and officials) of the FIFA Disciplinary Code.
FIFA also announced that the sanction will take effect immediately, and the president of the Football Federation will not be able to attend the next match between Cameroon and Kenya.
Samuel Eto’o spent the best years of his career in the Catalan “Barcelona”, where he played 144 matches and scored 107 goals.
