“I firmly believe that everything is in our hands. It was important for me to focus on performing. I want to mention Liverpool. They were the best team in the APL this year, and we knew we had to raise their game to have at least some chance. We needed everyone to show their maximum and I think they did it. I also want to pay tribute to how Liverpool behaved after defeat. We were in such a situation two years ago – it is a terrible feeling. I believe that they really behaved with dignity – manager and players, it was very worthy. As for the curse, I always believed that it was only in our heads.
I am glad for others, very glad for the players. Each of us has its own story. I like to work with them daily, I’m proud of being their leader. I am so glad that the fans got this trophy to complete the long waiting. I hope that in the future we can win more. It is amazing that football can give this opportunity.
