Chernomorets – Carpathians. Forecast and announcement for the match of the championship of Ukraine

On Saturday, September 21, “Karpaty” will face “Chernomorets” as part of the 7th round of the UPL in Odesa. “Sailors” are only one point ahead of “Lviv” in the standings.

Chernomorets Odessa club hosted “Ingulets” in the previous round and won 1:0. For the head coach of the “black and blue” Oleksandr Babich, this victory was the jubilee, the 50th, at the helm of different clubs in all tournaments: 43 – in the championships of Ukraine, 6 – in the Cup of Ukraine and one – in European cups.

On Saturday, it will be the jubilee, 800th, match in the championships of Ukraine for the “sailors”, including the first with the “lions”. The streak of “black and blue” continues in the UPL for 19 games: 5 wins and 14 defeats. Carpathians “Green and White” are spending their first season in the UPL and in the last round of the championship in Lviv, as guests, they suffered a major defeat against “Shakhtar” with a score of 2:5. After the game, head coach Vladyslav Lupashko noted: “I think we played open football. We tried to take the ball away from Shakhtar. Mostly we succeeded, but the game showed that this factor was key. After all, Shakhtar’s skill is higher than our pressing game. They created all the moments immediately after coming out of our pressure.”

The scoring streak of “Karpat” continues in the UPL for 5 games – eight goals. Carpathian Orest Kuzyk, who played for Chernomorets last season, can score his 20th goal at the club level. “Chernomorets” is in 11th place in the standings, ahead of “Karpaty”, which is in 12th place, by only one point. So, in case of victory, the “green-white” will be ahead of the “black-blue”.

Statistics of meetings “Chernomorets” and “Karpaty” will play their second match, including their debut in the UPL. The first meeting of the rivals took place on August 21 in Lviv – within the framework of the 3rd preliminary stage of the Cup of Ukraine.
