In an interview with Sport.ua, Hlus shared some details about the arrest of a colleague and expressed his impressions about Dynamo’s tournament troubles.
– Of course, I am aware of this situation. I have no direct contact with Ivan, because the police took away his phones. Who knows, maybe he somehow contacts his niece, who, like brother Mykhailo, also lives abroad. I don’t know… However, I have communications with his friends who are also abroad. And I maintain this connection every day, because the fate of our compatriot and colleague in the craft is not indifferent to me, as it is to many Ukrainians.
– What do you know about him?
– I know that he flew from Poland to Prague, but he was detained there at the airport.
– For what reason?
– One can only guess about the real reason, but any accusation requires an evidence base. I don’t know anything about it yet. I only know that some time after the start of the full-scale war, Ivan went to Germany, where the ex-deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Onyshchenko lives. However, he was not there for long and left for the Czech Republic. As far as I know, Yaremchuk lived in this country for a year and a half, and then ended up in Belgium. Settled in a hotel in a village near Antwerp. It is not excluded that there could be one or another reason for which he ended up in the register of offenders. In Europe, this is clear, but everything is resolved very slowly. As I was told by guys I know, who are familiar with the current features of life abroad, in the European Union they put a red mark in the form of a flag in the passport – and if it is there, the person is detained by the police.
– When was the last time you had contact with Ivan Yaremchuk?
– I would like to know your impressions about the performance of Kyiv “Dynamo” in the Conference League, where after the defeat against the English “Crystal Palace” there was another fiasco – 0:3 against the Turkish “Samsunspor”.
– To say that I was upset would be an understatement. If I had the opportunity, I would go on the field to help Dynamo. I’ve said it before: what can we expect from a team that doesn’t have quality performers? And if there is a lack of such performers, then there will be no quality game. The current Dynamo players play as they can.
– Many matches have shown that the realization of moments is a serious problem.
– The word “moments” is incorrect in this case. After all, in two European Cup games, “Dynamo” had only one moment. Even so, Karavaev could not hit the target. Everything else was empty fuss.
– “Dynamo” looks extremely unsuccessful in the European arena, and in the national championship in the last five rounds, they have drawn. What do you see as a way out of this situation?
– My opinion: there is no quick way out. It is necessary to build a new team. I would at least now name eleven people who play in different teams and championships, while not including a single player from the current Dynamo squad in this list. These are, in particular, Bushchan, Tsygankov, Zabarny, Mykolenko, Sydorchuk, Roman Yaremchuk. And also Budkivskyi from “Zora” and Krasnopir from “Karpat”. I am sure that a team with these players would play at least in the Europa League. So it’s a shame that the current Dynamo lineup looks like this.
You know, lately I have been watching a lot of matches involving different teams in all three European club tournaments. So, Dynamo’s game was one of the worst in three European Cup days. The match with “Samsunspor” was without moments – what else can we talk about? The Turkish team won 3:0, and could have won 7:0. The opponent had great reliability in terms of achieving a result, there was a great desire. And not only “Samsunspor” – any team creates three or four, or even five or seven moments in just one half! And we have only one – and we think we should win 1:0. But it doesn’t happen like that.
– It turns out, everything is logical and regular?
– Logically, it is one hundred percent. I will give my opinion. From the point of view of the attacker. Now, unfortunately, we don’t have great strikers. Well, no – that’s all. And I don’t know what was the point of buying Blenuce if he doesn’t play? The guy is tall, and if so, then the tactics of the game need to be changed. After all, he has to meet the ball somewhere. Therefore, it is necessary to make more passes, cross-passes. When his fast colleague Vanat was in the team, there was one style of play. And now, with an overall forward, it is necessary to change the game plan.
