Head coach of Shakhtar Arda Turan spoke about the national team of Ukraine and congratulated them on the victory in the recent match against Azerbaijan.
– I want to ask about the national team of Ukraine. You were in the stands in Warsaw, saw the match. What is your attitude towards the national team?
– First of all, it is not easy for me, because I also respect the Azerbaijan national team very much. At the same time, I work here and feel like a part of the Ukrainian people. I supported Ukraine in that match. I am proud of my players, they played very well against Iceland, against Azerbaijan.
I also want to congratulate Rebrov – he did a great job. He can lead the team to the World Cup. I am a fan of the Ukrainian national team. They showed a very good game. Indeed, it is not easy for them now, because every day they travel and play in another country. It is very difficult emotionally. But I sincerely respect my players and all Ukrainian football players. You have a very good team. We’ll see what happens before the playoffs.
