– You ended your career at the age of 35. Why? Because of health problems?
– More precisely, at 36. Health problems, of course, played a big role. I had knee and back problems. However, I’m happy with how it turned out.
At that moment, I returned to Kyiv “Dynamo” and said goodbye to the national team for Euro-2012, which was hosted by Poland and Ukraine. Such a farewell suited me very well, Shevchenko admitted.
During his professional career, the legend of Ukrainian football played for Kyiv “Dynamo”, Italian “Milan” and English “Chelsea”. Shevchenko won numerous team and personal awards, for example, he won the Ballon d’Or and won the Champions League with Milan in the 2002/03 season.
On Wednesday, October 15, during the FIFA Council, Shevchenko was elected chairman of the Committee on the Future of Football.
