Alexey HOBLENKO: “It’s hard to play when the referees are playing against you”

Player of Odessa club “Chernomorets” Alexey Khoblenko spoke about refereeing in the Ukrainian Premier League.

– The specifics of the defenders’ game against you are that they don’t always play cleanly, and this is proof of that. We are not discussing refereeing, but how are you used to it, that different means are used against you? And where will they ask for a T-shirt during the match, and where will they not notice that your leg is there?

– I would like to talk about refereeing. We haven’t had a single penalty this season. There are few, so to speak, mocking us even when we play on the road. And that’s a bit of a bummer.

The head coach sets us up so that we don’t communicate with the judges, because you can’t do anything about it. Let’s go out and play.

– Well, and not only when visiting – such situations also happen at home.

– First of all, it is difficult to play when the judges are playing against you. Well, I think that something might change.

– At least there were cases – both against Yanakov’s violation, and against you in the match with “Polesie”, and against you in the match with “Vorskla” when the score was 0:0.

– Practically in every home match there is a reason for penalty kicks. Even VAR is not reviewed. It is possible to at least revise the VAR a little – at least once.

– This is the position of Alexei Khoblenko, with which I agree. But we are playing football here.

– Well, it is possible to watch VAR at least once.
