A serious problem. Babich explained why Chernomorts was issued a transfer ban

Last week it became known that Odesa is due to debts to its players “Chernomorets” received a transfer ban from FIFA.

In the roles of the victims who decided to file a claim against “Chernomorets” in the relevant legal authorities, there are legionnaires Luka Gucek, Samson Yede, Zygy Badibanga and Ukrainian Orest Kuzyk.

Head coach of “Chernomorets” Alexander Babich commented for Sport.ua the situation that arose in the club:

“This ban was for debts during the performance of the team in the previous season. I understand very well that this is bad and everyone in the club is working on this issue now. In the winter period, we want to strengthen ourselves with quality players, but we will see how well we can do this.

But for now, the transfer ban is a serious problem for our club. Moreover, in the case when we want to solve the problem of climbing higher in the standings, to occupy a place no lower than that of Chernomorets at the end of the last season.”

In the 2023/24 season, Odessa finished in 12th place in the Ukrainian Premier League (32 points). “Chernomorets” finished the autumn part of the current season in the penultimate, 15th position (12 points).
