Gianni Infantino believes that the sanctions only increased hatred and did not achieve the goal.

“Never ban any country from playing football.”
When asked about the revision of the ban, he answered:
“We have to (revise – ed.). Definitely.”
The FIFA president emphasized that the sanctions did not have the expected effect:
“Because this ban has achieved nothing, it has only created more irritation and hatred. The opportunity for girls and boys from Russia to play football matches in other parts of Europe could help (reduce tensions – note),” said the head of FIFA.
Earlier it became known that FIFA is launching youth festival tournaments open to Russian national teams.
