The former Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Viktor Kovalenko transferred to Olympiakos from Nicosia, which the Cypriot championship club has already officially announced.
The 29-year-old footballer has signed a contract with the Cypriots until the end of the current season.
“We welcome Viktor Kovalenko to the big family of Olympiakos and wish him health, strength and further success in wearing the historic black and green shirt!” – said in the statement of the club from Nicosia.
We will remind that Kovalenko left Aris in January of this year and was a free agent for some time. At the same time, he joined this team only in September 2025. During this time, he took part in six matches (174 minutes) without productive actions.
Kovalenko is a pupil of Shakhtar. He played for the first team from 2014 to 2021, played 199 matches, scored 32 goals and provided 12 assists. Victor also has 33 matches as part of the Ukrainian national team, for which he made one assist.
Olympiakos from Nicosia is currently in eighth place in the league table of Cyprus. Kovalenko’s new team will play its next game on February 8 against Apollon.
