Lyon, Aston Villa, Midtjylland, Real Betis, Porto, Braga, Freiburg and Roma with Ukrainian Artem Dovbyk won direct tickets to the 1/8 finals, taking places from first to eighth. These teams will skip the playoff round stage and will immediately begin the main elimination bracket.
In the play-off round, where the teams will fight for a place in the 1/8 finals, the clubs that finished in positions from ninth to 24th will play. This list includes Genk, Bologna, Stuttgart, Ferencvaros, Nottingham Forest, Viktoria Plzen, Crvena Zvezda, Celta, PAOK, Lille, Fenerbahce, Panathinaikos, Celtic, Ludogorets, Dinamo Zagreb and Brann.
At the same time, according to the results of the general stage, Young Boys, Sturm, Steaua, Gou Eged, Feyenoord, Basel, Salzburg, Rangers, Nice, Utrecht, Malmo and Maccabi Tel Aviv left the tournament.
