The head coach of Liverpool Arne Slot commented on the possible activity of the club in the transfer market against the background of numerous injuries in the team. The Dutch specialist emphasized that the club makes decisions based not only on the current situation, but also on the future.

— As a club, we always try to make decisions that we consider reasonable. We look not only at the short term, but also at the long term. That is why we sign young players who have high quality and potential for development. The coach also stressed that Liverpool do not form a squad with an excessive number of players in one position and strive for balance:

— We do not have a team with four right defenders, twelve midfielders and three or four strikers. That’s not how it works. We must make smart decisions both for the immediate future and for the long term. First, let’s see what the situation is with Jeremy Frimpong. He may not play on Saturday, but he could be ready in a day or two. Now we’re on a one-game-a-week schedule, which usually means fewer injuries, but there’s never any certainty,” Slott said.
