Flamengo has reached an agreement in principle with London’s West Ham regarding the transfer of attacking midfielder Lucas Paquet. It is reported The Athletic.

According to the source, the Brazilian club made a new offer in the amount of 41.25 million euros, after which the parties advanced to the final agreement of the agreement.

The payment structure is still under discussion, but West Ham are optimistic and expect the transfer to be completed in the near future. Earlier, the Londoners rejected two offers from Flamengo for the 28-year-old footballer.

Lucas Paqueta did not participate in the last matches of West Ham. He missed the game against Sunderland and also missed the FA Cup and Premier League games earlier in January – notably with a back problem. The Brazilian last appeared on the field on January 6 in the game against Nottingham Forest.

In the current season, Paquet played 19 matches in all tournaments. In total, he played 139 matches for West Ham, in which he scored 23 goals and provided 15 assists. His contract with the club runs until June 2027.

Previously, the midfielder appeared in transfer rumors several times – in particular, Aston Villa showed interest in him last summer, and Manchester City in 2023. That potential move to the Manchester giants did not happen due to an investigation by the Football Association of England, from which Paquette was fully exonerated in 2025.

Flamengo is the reigning Brazilian champion, having won the Serie A title in 2025 and three points ahead of Palmeiras.
