English Leicester City announced the parting with the head coach Marty Cifuentes. This was reported by the press service of the club, details are added by Sky Sports.

The chairman of the board of the club, Ayyavatt Srivaddhanaprabha, thanked the coach for his dedication and hard work, but noted that changes were necessary to improve the team’s results:

“This was a difficult decision and one that I did not take lightly. I would like to thank Marty for his dedication during his time at Leicester City. He worked tirelessly to help us achieve our goals. However, at this time it is the right step to improve the team’s results and performance. Marty leaves the club with our gratitude and best wishes for the future.”

Cifuentes took charge of the Foxes in July 2025, replacing Ruud van Nistelrooy, and signed a three-year contract. However, in 29 matches in the Championship, the team has won only 10 and is currently six points behind the playoff zone.

When transferring from Queens Park Rangers, the coach agreed to financial losses: he partially covered the compensation for the transfer in the amount of 500,000 pounds himself, giving up part of the salary and allowances.

We will remind you that former Leicester coach Ruud van Nistelrooy recently joined the coaching staff of the Netherlands national team.
