Striker Sebastian Castillo commented on his transfer to the UPL Kharkiv club.

“First of all, I thank God for this opportunity. I feel a lot of emotions right now, because it was an opportunity I always hoped for and worked for, and now I don’t want to lose it. I know it won’t be easy, but I’m going with great enthusiasm and desire to show my talent, make my country’s name known and help Metalist 1925 achieve positive results.

Venezuelans performed very well in Ukraine, and this opens up opportunities for football players from my country. I think playing with Venezuela at the U20 South American Championship also played a part, as did my good performance with my team Deportivo.

I consider myself strong in one-on-one play. I am also very technical with the ball, and I also have a good shot from outside the penalty area. I can play in all attacking positions of the team, but the position of the left winger is native to me.

I have only been with the team for a few days, but already I can see that there are some very good players. One of those who stand out the most is the captain. I will gradually get to know the boys better. I consider myself a friendly person. I enjoy being friends with all my teammates and I will try to earn everyone’s friendship. However, I have now spent more time with Nicolas Arevalo.

I knew about the club because I followed the UPL because of the Venezuelans who played there. There were players in my former team who told me a lot about the Ukrainian championship.

My main goal is to perform as well as possible to help the team achieve the goals set for this season. I think if the team does well, I will be happy too. I like to focus on team success, and I want to achieve success together with Metalist 1925,” Castillo was quoted as saying by the club’s press service.
