The guests opened the scoring in the 4th minute. After a wing pass by Matteo Ruggeri, Giuliano Simeone headed the ball into the net in the center of the penalty area. Atlético tried to develop success and several more times dangerously attacked Chakir’s goal.
Galatasaray gradually leveled the game and regained the balance in the 20th minute. After a cross from the right wing, Marcos Llorente cut the ball into his own goal, scoring an own goal. Before the break, both teams had chances to take the lead, but the score did not change.
In the second half, the match turned into a mutual struggle with a lot of single combat.
