Dominic Solanke has again been included in Tottenham’s bid for the UEFA Champions League match. This was announced by the head coach of the team, Thomas Frank, on the eve of the match against Borussia Dortmund. The information was made public Tottenham press office.

The 28-year-old striker was included in A’s initial 25-man squad but has not played in European competition this season due to an ankle injury that has sidelined him for four months. Solanke returned to the field on January 10, coming on as a substitute against Aston Villa, and in the last round of the Premier League, he appeared on the field after the break in the game against West Ham, gradually gaining optimal form.

Before the game against Slavia Prague on 9 December, Solanke was dropped from the Champions League bid and replaced by Matis Tel. According to UEFA regulations, Tottenham were only allowed to substitute one of their players, so Solanke was reinstated in the bid instead of Tel for the rest of the main stage of the tournament.

Commenting on his decision, Thomas Frank admitted that the choice was not easy: the coach noted the good form of Matis Tel, but emphasized that the rules allowed to keep only one of the two players in the team.
