Monterrey striker Herman Berterame could soon become Lionel Messi’s teammate at Inter Miami. This is reported by The Athletic.

According to the source, the clubs are in the final stage of negotiations regarding the transfer of the 27-year-old Mexican.

The amount of the transfer will be about 15 million dollars, which will make the player of the Mexican national team the second most expensive transfer in the history of the MLS club.

The record belongs to Rodrigo De Paulo, who moved from Atletico last summer for 15 million euros (about 17 million dollars).

This season, Berterame played 24 matches in which he scored 13 goals and provided three assists.

Inter Miami will start the new season on February 22 with an MLS match against Los Angeles.
