Verona opened the scoring after a mistake by Bologna defender Gift Orban, who left the ball for Antoine Bernede. However, the visitors quickly recovered: Orsolini, breaking into the opponent’s penalty area, powerfully punched with his left foot into the far upper corner, and later Odhor doubled the advantage after a pass from Dominguez. Castro scored the third goal after an acrobatic bounce of the ball, bringing the score to 3:1. Then there was an own goal by Freuler, but it did not help the hosts to save themselves.
The win was Bologna’s first in Serie A since November.
