The former midfielder of Shakhtar Donetsk Tomasz Gyubshman received a new position – the 43-year-old Czech was appointed as the sports director of Slovakia’s Ružomberok.

This was reported by the press service of the club. Along with Gübshman, another representative of the Czech Republic joined Ružomberok — Tomasz Köstl, who led the team as the head coach.

36-year-old Köstl has been working as an assistant in the Czech national team since 2024, and at the end of last year he was acting as the head coach of the national team. Under his leadership, the Czechs won victories over San Marino and Gibraltar.

Tomasz Gyubshman is a pupil of Sparta Prague, but he gained serious playing experience in Jablonec, where he spent the 2000/01 season, and also played for the club in the period from 2014 to 2024.

Gubshman ended his football career in January 2024. He achieved his greatest success with Shakhtar, for which he played from 2004 to 2014, winning the 2008/09 UEFA Cup together with the team.

Ružomberok is currently seventh in the Slovakian league table with 20 points from 18 matches.
