Brazilian centre-back Thiago Silva has spoken out emotionally about his return to Porto in an appeal on social media. The experienced footballer will once again wear the shirt of the club from which his European career began.

Silva signed a deal with Porto until June 2026. The contract also includes an option to extend cooperation for one more season – until the summer of 2027.

“It’s been over 20 years, but it seems like it was yesterday. I’m back to this incredible club and the city where my European adventure began. It’s a place I can call home. I’m looking forward to starting work and being able to thank the club and the fans for all the love they give me. See you soon, Porto fans,” the Brazilian wrote.

After leaving Chelsea in 2024, Silva played for his native Fluminense, where he showed phenomenal physical form.
