The home team took the lead in the 13th minute — after a cross from the wing, the ball ricocheted from Aiden Gaven into the goal of Manchester United. Before the break, Burnley kept a minimal advantage.
Already in the second half, the initiative was seized by the Mancunians. The hero of the segment was Benyamin Sheshko, who scored twice in the 50th and 60th minutes, realizing moments after accurate passes from his partners and, it seemed, brought his team a willful victory.
However, Burnley managed to respond. In the 66th minute Jadon Anthony took advantage of the free space in the penalty area and equalized the score with an accurate shot. In the future, Manchester United had opportunities to win, but the execution let the visitors down again.
In the end, Darren Fletcher’s side were drawn for the third time in a row against bottom-of-the-table opposition, extending a disappointing Premier League winless run.
