“Chelsea football club and its head coach Enzo Maresca are terminating cooperation. During his time at the club, Enzo led the team to success in the Conference League and the Club World Cup. These achievements will remain an important part of the recent history of the club and we thank him for his contribution to the development of the club.
“Given that the team still needs to achieve key goals in four tournaments, including qualifying for the Champions League, Enzo and the club believe that the changes give the team the best chance of getting back on track,” the club said in a statement.
Maresca took charge of Chelsea in the summer of 2024. The London club is in 5th place in the Premier League standings, having collected 30 points after 19 matches. The Blues have won just two of their last nine matches in all competitions.
