“I am very happy and grateful to the fans, because we need them and they are with us, they give their energy and we are here to play for them. The reaction of the players on the pitch was just fantastic, but in the first half we had problems.
We couldn’t find the rhythm to control the ball and often attack their penalty area, but we had to defend and we did brilliantly. We conceded after a corner and we needed to change something in the second half but keep the same structure of the game as in the first half.
We started to play better and we needed some fresh energy, but the way we got the momentum going with the players showing their mindset to play to their strengths as much as possible was fantastic.
It is very difficult to beat Chelsea here. We wanted it and we are glad, but at the same time we keep our balance and try to pursue our goal in every match. Our next challenge is Arsenal,” the club’s press service quoted Emery as saying.
