The Spanish club reached an agreement with Leon regarding the temporary transfer of the Uruguayan midfielder. 27-year-old Fonseca became the team’s first rookie in the winter transfer window.
Nico Fonseca started his career in Italy’s Novara, after which he played for River Plate Montevideo and Montevideo Wanderers. In the 2023/24 season, he defended the colors of the Argentine River Plate, playing 28 matches and scoring one goal. The midfielder also has experience playing for the Uruguay national team under the leadership of Marcelo Bielsa.
The Uruguayan’s last club was Leon, where he played 35 matches and was an important figure in the midfield.
