Having transferred to the Turkish Trabzonspor on a one-year lease, the goalkeeper gave a lengthy interview to the club’s media, in which he admitted that this move was a real salvation for him. In the video, titled “A day in the life of Andre Onan”, the 28-year-old goalkeeper exuded a joy that Red Devils fans haven’t seen in a long time.
Onana directly stated that he now feels as comfortable as possible.
“I’m very happy, believe me. I’m living the best period of my life. I can’t complain, I’m very happy to be here,” Andre shared.
The goalkeeper paid special attention to the local fans. If in England his every step was examined under a microscope and questioned, then in Trabzon he became a real idol, whose presence is appreciated. Onana even shared a funny story about how fans show their love:
“Sometimes I’m just driving in a car and someone cuts me off to stop. They say: ‘Onana, stop, I want a photo!’ I think to myself: ‘Yes, but we could do it in a different way’. But when I see how happy they are, I also become happy. I love them and I love this feeling of passion. It’s something incredible,” the goalkeeper emphasized.
Although the loan deal runs until June 2026 and does not include a buyout option, Trabzonspor management is already impressed with Onan’s impact on the team. According to insiders, the club is considering the possibility of negotiations with Manchester United about a full-fledged transfer or an extension of the lease.
