The Colorado Rapids announced the appointment of Matt Wells as the team’s head coach.

The previous place of work of the 37-year-old specialist was Tottenham, where he was part of the coaching staff and worked as an assistant to the head coach Thomas Frank, Ange Postecoglou and Ryan Mason.

Wells has also previously assisted Scott Parker, working with Tottenham’s youth teams, as well as in the Fulham, Bournemouth and Club Brugge structures.

For Wells, working in Colorado Rapids will be his first experience as a head coach of an adult team.

The Denver-based club finished eleventh in the MLS Western Conference last season and hopes to improve under the new coach.
