Odessa Chornomorets is on the verge of radical personnel changes. As reported by TaToTake, the leadership of the sailors is seriously considering the option of dismissing head coach Oleksandr Kucher.

The reason for such radical steps was the team’s unsatisfactory results at the end of the first round. After a promising start, Chornomorets had an unsuccessful stretch in the second half of the year, which led to a drop in the standings.

Currently, the Odessans have dropped to third place, allowing Kyiv’s Left Bank to overtake them. Such a loss of positions is not part of the plans of the club’s bosses, who were counting on a more confident dominance.

According to the source, the fate of Oleksandr Kucher may be decided in the coming days. The club believes that the team needs a “shake” to return to the fight for the highest steps.

Roman Hryhorchuk is named as the main candidate for the vacant position. The return of the specialist, with whom the brightest pages of the modern history of Chornomorets are associated (the final of the Ukrainian Cup of the 2012-13 season), is perceived by fans with great enthusiasm.

The experienced coach has more than once proven his ability to lead the Odessa club out of crisis situations and build a fighting team in the shortest possible time.

Hryhorchuk’s last place of work was the LNH. The mentor led the Cherkasy club last fall and helped keep a place in the Ukrainian Premier League. Roman Yosypovych left LNZ by mutual consent of both parties in the spring of 2025.
