The president of Barcelona accused the Madrid club of violating ethical and moral norms, declaring a large-scale campaign to discredit the Catalans.

The conflict intensified after Florentino Perez’s repeated mentions of the Negreira case (Barcelona’s payments to the former vice-president of the refereeing committee). In response, Laporte first ironically diagnosed the opponents with acute barcelonitis — a morbid obsession with Barcelona’s success, and then moved on to direct accusations.
Laporta paid special attention to the club TV channel of Real, which, in his opinion, is a tool of propaganda.
“They confuse power with ignorant despotism. These are people who practice cynicism and excessive arrogance; those who have a television from which they constantly spew lies and poison everything around them,” said Laporta.
The president of the Blaugrana stressed that Real Madrid’s actions go beyond football rivalry. He accused Madrid of violating all codes of conduct, both ethical and moral. According to Laporta, Barcelona’s success and its financial recovery are causing envy in Madrid, which they cannot hide.
So far, Real Madrid has not officially responded to these attacks, but it is clear that the institutional relationship between the clubs has been destroyed.
