Union Berlin beat RB Leipzig at home in the opening match of the 14th round of the Bundesliga, demonstrating the most effective football in the second half. Despite the fact that Ole Werner’s team controlled the ball more, it was the Berliners who were sharper and better realized their chances.

After an even and tough first half, the game “flares up” after the break. In the 57th minute, Oliver Burke opened the scoring with a beautiful shot into the top corner. Leipzig responded almost immediately – a fresh Gomis scored two minutes after entering the field.

But the Union did not stop. In the 64th minute, Ansa blocked Trimmel’s pass and put the hosts ahead again. Leipzig pressed, but was no longer able to break through the confident defense of the Berliners. And in stoppage time, Skarke scored the full stop — 3:1.

This victory was Union’s fifth of the season and allowed them to break away from the relegation zone. Leipzig again failed to confirm their status as favorites on the road.
