I love football and competition, so obviously if you tell me to go to France for the World Cup and I say no, then I’m a liar. If I am called, I come and play. I have ambitions.
I love football and I love to win. I like to win trophies. This is the most important thing for me. If I am called to the national team, I will come and play. That is all that is required of me,” Benzema said.
In 2015, Benzem was suspended from matches for the national team due to a scandal related to the blackmail of Mathieu Valbuena. In 2021, Karim started playing for the national team again. In 2022, he announced the end of his career in the national team. In total, Benzema played 97 matches for Le Bleu and scored 37 goals.
