Benfica and Sporting drew 1-1 in an action-packed Lisbon derby. Both teams approached the match among the main contenders for the title, and Ukrainians Anatoliy Trubin and Georgy Sudakov started.

The visitors opened the scoring in the 12th minute with Pedro Gonsalves’ effort. Benfica answered in the 28th minute — Sudakov played successfully on the finish and equalized the score. The Ukrainian had several more sharp episodes, but the Sporting goalkeeper did not allow him to double his goals.

In the second half, the hosts created more chances, but Silva repeatedly saved the visitors. At the end of the match, Benfica remained in the minority after Prestianni was sent off, but still held on for a draw.

Sporting remained in second place, Benfica in third.
