Flamengo became champions of Brazil for the tour before the end of the season, winning the eighth title in their history. In the 37th round, the team minimally beat Seara with a score of 1:0. Samuel Lino scored the winning goal in the 37th minute, making the red and blacks unattainable for Palmeiras.
This year was one of the most successful in the history of the club from Rio de Janeiro. Flamengo successively won the State Cup, the Brazilian Cup, the Super Cup of the country, and also triumphed in the Copa Libertadores, where they again defeated Palmeiras (1:0) in the final.
The main architect of these successes was the head coach Felipe Luis, a former defender of Chelsea and Atletico Madrid.
