Arsenal continued their strong run and won a comfortable victory over Brentford in the 14th round of the Premier League — 2:0. Mikel Arteta’s team are now unbeaten in 18 consecutive matches in all competitions and have once again moved five points clear of their nearest rivals in the championship race.

Mikel Merino, forced to play at the forefront of the attack due to injuries or incomplete readiness of Havertz, Jesus and Jokeres, opened the scoring in the 11th minute. The Gunners’ right flank tore through the visitors’ defence, with Ben White scoring a pass and Merino heading home his team-best 13th goal of 2025.

In stoppage time, Merino was again key, this time with a perfect pass to Bukayo Saka, who set up the final score.

Brentford, with Egor Yarmolyuk in the lineup, rarely got out of the defense, but had a chance to equalize: Kevin Schade’s shot in the first half after a corner from Rai was converted into the crossbar. The only negatives for Arteta were injuries to Cristian Mosquera and Declan Rice.
