“First of all, many thanks to the ZSU, which bravely resisted the Russian aggressor, and this gives us the opportunity to compete and train. As for the tournament itself, I am satisfied with the performance of my wards, especially since the opponents were formidable national teams. It was a valuable experience that will definitely come in handy, because already in early March we will start in the World Cup 2027 selection matches with the favorites – England and Spain.
The attitude of the girls was maximum. After all, we should not forget that we had experienced and famous visas. It’s just a little unfortunate that there was no time to restore parity with the British women, because the final whistle sounded immediately. And in the match with the Austrians, the failure in the debut did not knock my wards out of the rut, and they, having demonstrated skill and fighting qualities, won a will-power victory. This is not forgotten.
We had a lot of information about the strengths and weaknesses of the opponents, and in preparation and in the set-up, I was guided by this. That is why it would be wrong to say that we bet on the traditional 4-3-3 formation for us. Constructions largely depended on the course of events on the field.
Who could not be included due to some circumstances? Only Tanya Boychuk from the Canadian club Montreal Roses. The next collection? At the beginning of March, we have official matches with the English and Spanish women, so at the end of February we will hold a short-term stage of preparation. Exactly where and in which country we will host rivals is still at the stage of decision.
