Flamengo defender Danilo da Silva set a unique achievement in world football — he became the first player in history to win both the Champions League and the Copa Libertadores twice.

On Sunday night, the 34-year-old Brazilian lifted the main trophy of South America for the second time in his career. Moreover, it was Danilo who became the hero of the 2025 Copa Libertadores final, scoring the only goal in the match against Palmeiras — 1:0.

In Europe, Danilo won the Champions League twice as part of Real Madrid (seasons 2015/16 and 2016/17). He won his first Copa Libertadores back in 2011, playing for Santos.

The footballer can add another trophy to his brilliant season next week. Flamengo leads Serie A with two rounds to go, five points ahead of second-placed Palmeiras.

Flamengo will play its next match on the night of December 4 against Ceara.
