Midfielder of Kyiv Obolon Ihor Medynskyi commented on the crushing defeat against Shakhtar Donetsk (0:6) in the UPL. His words are cited by the official website of the “brewers”.

“If we talk specifically about the first half, then we almost fulfilled the setup. We protected each other, tried not to give Shakhtar players space, because we understood their individual strength. Everything went according to plan until the last minute. The only minus was a weak counterplay. We wanted to go out to attack more often. But the conceded goal at the end of the half broke us a little and changed our plans.

I wanted to score at least one, because it is important psychologically, especially for attackers. There is a huge difference when you lose 0:1 or 0:6. I think we didn’t deserve such an account, but we accept what happened and will continue to work.

Playing in the minority is very difficult. Even in equal teams it was not easy for us, and when we were in the minority it was even more difficult. At 0:1 and 0:2 we were still trying to grab at least a draw. But technical footballers make a difference. Once they felt confident, they were unstoppable. I still believe that we did not deserve such a defeat,” said Medynskyi.
