Diaz, 28, received a straight red card against PSG on November 4 for a foul on Achraf Hakimi. That episode resulted in a serious leg injury for the Moroccan defender, who has been sidelined ever since.
UEFA classified Diaz’s actions as “serious foul play”, which led to a three-match ban. As a result, the forward will miss the away match against Arsenal on November 26, as well as the home games against Sporting on December 9 and Union Saint-Giloise on January 21.

Bayern head coach Vincent Kompany had previously expected Diaz to be suspended for just one match, so the club intends to seek an explanation for the increased punishment and appeal.
Diaz has managed three goals in four Champions League appearances this season and six goals in ten Bundesliga appearances since his move from Liverpool last summer.
