Fred Grimm will remain the head coach of Ajax at least until the winter break, the specialist himself announced press conference before the match with Excelsior.

Grim became the temporary successor to John Geatinga, who was sacked after the home defeat to Galatasaray in the Champions League.

Before appointing a new head coach, the club needs to find a technical director.

“It’s not clear how quickly that will happen, nobody can say now. I’ve been told I’ll be in charge of the team until the winter break. How sure is that? It’s football, we all know that. We’ll see,” Grimm said.

Ajax is in fourth place in the league table of the Netherlands, 11 points behind the leader PSV.

It was previously reported that ten Gag and Overmars refused to return to Ajax.
