AC Milan are exploring the option of a high-profile return for their former defender Thiago Silva.

According to La Repubblica, the Italian giants are looking for an experienced central defensive player to strengthen their squad during the winter transfer window, with the 41-year-old veteran seen as an ideal candidate.

Currently, Silva plays in his homeland for Fluminense, which he joined in the summer of 2024. Despite a respectable football age, the defender demonstrates a high level of play, and is reportedly not yet ready to end his career.

Sources claim that the prospect of a return to European football could interest the player. If the transfer goes through, Thiago Silva will once again play in the same team as Milan’s attack leader Christian Pulisic. The footballers are well known for their joint performances in London’s Chelsea, where they won the Champions League together.

Silva’s return to the San Siro, 13 years after his departure, could add much-needed leadership and stability to the team’s defensive line. Milan are expected to attempt the move in January.
