The Confederation of African Football has named three finalists for the title of the continent’s best player in 2025. The shortlist includes the stars of the top European championships: PSG defender and leader of the Moroccan national team Ashraf Hakimi, Liverpool winger and symbol of Egyptian football Mohamed Salah, as well as the forward of Galatasaray and the Nigerian national team Victor Osimgen.

The nominees were chosen by CAF representatives, national coaches, former footballers and journalists specializing in African football.

The winner will be announced this Wednesday – a solemn award ceremony will be held in Rabat, the capital of Morocco.

The current holder of the title “Player of the Year” is Ademola Lukman from Atalanta.
