The coach of the youth national team talked about the personnel situation, opponents and the team’s tasks.

The head coach of the team, Dmytro Mykhaylenko, shared his expectations on the eve of the tournament.
“Everything is fine, all the guys are trying to perform as well as possible. Practically everyone we wanted to see is in the team. Only Artem Stepanov went to the youth team, and Bohdan Olychenko was injured, so we are urgently looking for a replacement. We have enough information about the opponents. All the teams in the group are about the same level.
On paper, it may look that way, but only the fights themselves will show who is worth what. Competition has increased, football is equalizing.”
The first game will take place against Albania, the host of the mini-tournament. However, the mentor does not focus on this:
“It is not important for me. I believe in my wards and in our game. If the team plays at its true level, then everything will be fine. Our goal is to make it to the next round. And from which place, it is not so important,” said Mykhaylenko.
Earlier, Mykhaylenko announced the composition of the Ukrainian U-19 national team for Euro-2026 qualification.
