Newcastle defender Emil Kraft can change his club registration already in January — Copenhagen is interested in his services, reports Shields Gazette.

The Danish champion and regular participant in the Champions League plans to make a “budget” transfer of the 31-year-old Swede, whose contract with Newcastle runs until the summer of 2026.

The management of the English club is considering the possibility of selling the player in order not to lose him for free next year.

Kraft has been with Newcastle since 2019 when he joined from French side Amiens for £5m. During this time, he played 106 matches as part of the “forty”, mostly playing the role of a rotational player.

Despite a stable spot in the team’s application, the possibility of regular game practice in Copenhagen could prompt Kraft to make the move. At the same time, the football player himself has repeatedly noted that he feels “at home” in Newcastle, where he settled with his family.
