Speaking at a business forum in Miami, the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner compared this triumph to the birth of his sons, calling both events unforgettable moments beyond description.
“With all due respect, because it’s not the same, but when I won the World Cup at a professional level, I felt the same as when my children were born. It’s a feeling that’s hard to explain, it’s so special and so big that anything I say about it will not be enough,” Messi told Marca.
He also added that winning the World Cup was the highest achievement and completion of his entire career as it was the only major trophy he was missing.
The Argentina captain also talked about the next World Cup, which will be held in the United States, Canada and Mexico next summer. Messi shared what he expects from this competition:
